Genuine Hayward cell vessel for Salt & Swim 3C.
The Hayward GLX-DIY-VESSEL is the replacement cell vessel for the Salt & Swim 3C salt chlorine generator, which Hayward rates for in-ground pools up to 30,000 gallons. The vessel plumbs into your return line and holds the Salt & Swim cell, which slides in and is secured with a hand-tightened retaining nut.

Hayward designs the Salt & Swim 3C cell vessel to install in either 1-1/2 in. or 2 in. PVC pool plumbing. Pools plumbed with 1-1/2 in. polypipe need Hayward's DIY-POLYPIPE adapter kit.
Last Stop on the Return
Hayward calls for the vessel on a 10 in. run of straight pipe at the end of the return piping, just before the water returns to the pool, with all other equipment upstream and within 15 ft of the control box.
Nut Assembly Connection
The vessel joins the cut pipe with nut assemblies, each a nut, compression ring and collar. Hand tighten the nuts to the stop, then add a 1/4 turn with a strap wrench. Visible inspection marks mean the pipe is not in far enough.
Stays Plumbed In for Winter
Hayward states that the control box and the plumbed-in cell vessel can withstand winter weather and should not be removed. The cell itself must be protected from freezing water.
Before You Start
Hayward's instructions call for removing power to the filter pump and draining the water from the pool plumbing before you cut the pipe and install the vessel. The Salt & Swim 3C control box plugs into a 120 VAC GFCI outlet.

No. This part is the vessel. Hayward sells the Salt & Swim 3C cell separately as the SAS-CELL.

Needed to replace the control overlay on our Nordic Impulse hot tub, but could not find out the make or model number of the actual control panel on our tub. By taking measurements and photos or our actual control panel button positions and functions, I was able to narrow down the options. I ordered this overlay as the button positions seemed to be in the right positions, even though the overall size was smaller than the control panel. The overlay works, in that all buttons and functions are in the right place, and the overlay seems to have adhered well to the panel. It is not a perfect match, as it is smaller overall than it should be. But I am happy with the result and will buy an additional identical overlay as a backup in case this one, too, deteriorates at some point. Took a lot of detecting, but the result is successful!
