Pool Ladders for Inground & Above Ground Swimming Pools
Step in and out of your pool safely with a quality pool ladder built for inground or above-ground use. PST Pool Supplies stocks a full range of pool ladders — from standard 3-step and 4-step inground ladder units to accessibility pool lifts — from SR Smith, Saftron, Confer Plastics, and Perma-Cast, covering residential and ADA-compliant commercial applications, starting from under $11.
SR Smith inground ladders are the residential standard: the 3-step 23" IG Ladder Standard Plus (.065" tube, plastic step), the 3-step 24" Residential IG Ladder, and the 4-tread 24" Economy IG Ladder (stainless steel) all use 1.9" OD stainless steel rails and deck-anchor installation. The 10040 SR Smith Commercial Ladder (3-step, 23", stainless steel) is the heavy-duty commercial-grade version. Saftron inground ladders offer a polymer rail alternative to stainless — the Saftron P-324 3-step polymer ladders (available in grey and white) use a maintenance-free polymer construction that never rusts or corrodes, making them an excellent choice for saltwater pools. The Saftron 3-step split ladder (white) provides a wider step platform for comfortable entry. The Confer Plastics 36" storage step (black) is a simple deck-level step for above-ground pool entries. For accessibility, the Splash Semi-Portable Pool Lift (300 lb capacity, rechargeable) and Splash ER Hi/Lo Lift provide ADA-compliant pool entry solutions for users with mobility limitations — the semi-portable lift can be anchored and removed without tools. ADA pool accessibility standards are defined in ADA Title III guidelines and ANSI/APSP-16.
When selecting a pool ladder, the key specification is ladder height — match the ladder's design height (typically the step distance from the pool floor to the deck) to your pool's wall depth at the entry point. A standard inground pool 5–6 feet deep typically uses a 3-step ladder with a 23–24" above-deck span. Check your pool's deck anchor spacing before ordering — SR Smith, Saftron, and Inter-Fab ladders use slightly different anchor hole spacings and are not always interchangeable. Polymer (Saftron) ladders are particularly recommended for pools in coastal or saltwater environments where stainless steel corrosion is a concern. Pool lifts require a proper anchor socket in the pool deck — the Splash semi-portable lift uses a deck anchor that can be installed in existing decks with standard deck anchor hardware.
