Winter Skimmer Plug AGSDH2SW (For ABG Skimmers w/ 5 3/4" x 5 1/4" Opening) closes off the skimmer opening when you winterize the pool, stocked under SKU PST-AGSDH2SW. It blocks water and debris from filling the skimmer throat, where trapped water can freeze, expand, and crack the housing that is molded into your wall. Skimmer openings are not standardized between brands or between above ground and in ground pools, so measure the opening and match it to the fit listed in the part name before you order.

How do I know this plug fits my skimmer?
Measure the skimmer opening across and down, then compare it to the fit in the part name. Above ground skimmers run standard or wide mouth in several sizes, and in ground faces are larger again, so a plug that is close but not right will float loose or refuse to seat.
Does a skimmer plug replace the rest of my closing routine?
No. Blow out the lines, plug the returns, and lower the water to whatever level your setup calls for. The skimmer plug seals the opening so the throat is not left holding water and leaves. Many pools also run a compensator or skimmer protector inside the skimmer to absorb any ice that does form.
Can I reuse it next season?
Yes, as long as the body is not cracked or deformed. Rinse it when you open the pool, check the sealing surface for splits, and store it dry and out of direct sun. A plug that has gone brittle or lost its shape will not seal a second winter.
