Coarse thread replacement cap for 2011 and newer Waterway sand filters.
The Waterway 602-5321B Drain Screen Cap (SKU PST-WW6025321B) is the factory replacement winterizing cap for Waterway Carefree, ClearWater, SmartClean, TWM, and UltraClean Pro sand filters built from 2011 forward. The 3 inch hex cap threads into the bottom drain port with coarse threads to seal the tank for normal operation and twists off for fast sand drain-down at winterization. Order one for your spare parts bin so you are not chasing a cap on closing day.

Will this fit my older pre-2011 Waterway sand filter?
No. The 602-5321B uses the coarse thread profile introduced in 2011. Filters built in 2010 or earlier use the fine thread cap 602-5301B. Check the date code on your tank before ordering.
Is 602-5321B the same part as 602-5321 and 602-5320?
Yes. The 602-5320 was the original casting, 602-5321 is the current production part, and the B suffix means it ships in sealed Waterway retail packaging. All three interchange on 2011 and newer tanks.
Can I install the drain cap myself?
Yes. Open the filter, drain the tank, hand-thread the new cap into the bottom port until snug, then quarter-turn with a wrench on the hex flats. No tools, sealant, or pump break-down required.
