Technical Products #12 blow-thru plug is a rubber expansion winterizing plug with a blow-thru valve stem, so you can seal the opening and still blow air through the plug. Technical Products rates the #12 at 2.42" in diameter for 2" fitting. What does the blow-thru valve do?
It lets air pass through a seated plug, so you can seal an opening and keep blowing the line out without pulling the plug. A plug without a valve is set after the line is already clear.
Pipe, fitting or tube: which one do I have?
A pipe size means the plug goes straight into the open end of the pipe itself. A fitting is the socket or threaded opening a pipe slides into, which is wider than the pipe of the same nominal size, so it takes a bigger plug. Tube sizes are for thin-wall tubing. If you are not sure, measure the inside of the opening and compare it with the rated diameter in the specs.

Swapped out broken heater (lasted about 6 years) for this one. The instructions are for the electronics, not for the plumbing. You must get everything perfectly aligned or the plumbing may leak. I needed to loosen the electronics box to get the plumbing perfectly aligned. I have hot water again.

PST pool supplies are great to work with. I was having trouble finding this heat exchanger . Everywhere I looked, it was out of stock or back ordered. I contacted the manufacturer about buying the heat exchanger. They told me I couldn't buy it because I wasn't a dealer. If I was a dealer, they would be able to take the order.
