Tank clamp knob for System 3 S7M and S8M cartridge filters
The Pentair 24850-0002Z is the tank clamp knob for Sta-Rite System 3 cartridge filters, models S7M120, S7M400, S8M150 and S8M500. The knobs tighten the clamps that hold the upper and lower tank halves together, and Pentair says they must be securely tightened before the filter is started. PST SKU PST-17-102-2420.

How tight should the knobs be?
Pentair's System 3 manual says to install the clamps, then tighten all clamp knobs securely hand tight in the sequence shown, alternating across the tank rather than working around the filter tightening adjacent clamps.
When is it safe to loosen the knobs?
Stop the pump, open the air release valve and wait until all pressure is released from the filter tank and system before loosening the clamp knobs.
How many clamps does my filter use?
Pentair's parts list says the S7M120 uses 7 clamps and clamp bolts and the S8M150 uses 8.

Needed to replace the control overlay on our Nordic Impulse hot tub, but could not find out the make or model number of the actual control panel on our tub. By taking measurements and photos or our actual control panel button positions and functions, I was able to narrow down the options. I ordered this overlay as the button positions seemed to be in the right positions, even though the overall size was smaller than the control panel. The overlay works, in that all buttons and functions are in the right place, and the overlay seems to have adhered well to the panel. It is not a perfect match, as it is smaller overall than it should be. But I am happy with the result and will buy an additional identical overlay as a backup in case this one, too, deteriorates at some point. Took a lot of detecting, but the result is successful!

I accidentally broke the original knob by tightening it too much. This was a perfect fit and works 100%. Fast delivery too!
Swapped out broken heater (lasted about 6 years) for this one. The instructions are for the electronics, not for the plumbing. You must get everything perfectly aligned or the plumbing may leak. I needed to loosen the electronics box to get the plumbing perfectly aligned. I have hot water again.
