Universal Filtration STB-0971-02 Separation Tank Bag, Sta-Rite #60, Double Ply
11-1/4 in dia x 13 in, double-ply DE separation tank bag with aluminum rings.
Replacement double-ply separation tank bag for Sta-Rite and Pac-Fab #60 DE separation tanks. Catches spent diatomaceous earth and debris during the backwash cycle so it can be bagged and disposed of instead of flushed to waste. Heavy-duty polypropylene fabric, double-stitch seams, and aluminum top and bottom rings hold the bag open against backwash flow.

What is the difference between the double-ply and single-ply bag?
This is the double-ply (STB-0971-02) version, two layers of polypropylene for longer service life and finer DE capture. The single-ply (STB-0971-01) is thinner and cheaper but wears out faster. Both share the 11-1/4 in dia x 13 in #60 dimensions and aluminum rings.
How does a separation tank bag work?
When you backwash a DE filter, the spent DE and debris would normally flush to waste. A separation tank routes that backwash through this bag, which traps the solids while clean water passes through. You remove the bag, dump the dried DE in the trash, and reinstall, keeping DE out of the sewer or yard.
How often should I replace the bag?
Replace when the fabric is torn, thin, or no longer holding DE, or when flow through the tank drops noticeably from clogged pores. With normal seasonal backwashing a double-ply bag typically lasts 2 to 4 seasons. Rinse and dry it fully between uses to extend life.
