Swimline SilverKing 20' x 40' In-Ground Solid Winter Pool Cover
The long-haul winter cover.
The Swimline SilverKing Solid Winter Cover for 20' x 40' in-ground rectangle pools (SKU PST-CO142545R) floats on the water and seals your pool off from leaves, dirt, rain and sunlight through the whole off-season. The finished cover measures 25' x 45', which is 5' larger than the pool, so it reaches well past the coping on all four sides and holds down under water tubes laid end to end around the perimeter. Swimline backs it with a 15-year limited, first 2 years full warranty. SilverKing carries the longest warranty Swimline puts on a solid winter cover, 15 years with the first two covered in full.
Why PST Customers Pick This
Solid, Not Mesh
Nothing passes through the fabric. Leaves, dirt, pollen and sunlight all stay on top, so the water underneath stays clear instead of turning green under a mesh cover.
Water Tube Loops
Sewn loops around the perimeter hold water tubes flat on the deck so wind cannot get under the cover. Water tubes are sold separately.
UV and Chemical Resistant
The polyethylene is treated to take a full season of sun, freeze and thaw plus splash-back from your winterizing chemicals without going brittle at the folds.
Longest Swimline Warranty
Fifteen years of warranty with the first two full is the most Swimline backs a solid cover. Buy it once and stop replacing covers every few seasons.
Run a Cover Pump
Rain and snowmelt pool on any solid cover. A cover pump keeps that weight off the fabric and off your pool wall from the first storm to the spring thaw.
Not a Safety Cover
A solid winter cover is not a safety cover. It floats on the water and will not hold the weight of a child, a pet or an adult, and standing water on top of it is a drowning hazard. Keep a cover pump running on the cover, keep everyone off it, and use an anchored safety cover if you need a real barrier.

Frequently Asked Questions
What size cover do I order for my pool?
Order by your pool size, not the cover size. Every SilverKing is cut larger than the pool it is listed for, and the overlap in the title is how much bigger the finished cover is, so the fabric reaches past the coping with room to secure it. Measure the pool itself and match that number.
How do I hold the cover down on an in-ground pool?
With water tubes, which are sold separately. Slide them through the loops sewn around the perimeter and lay them end to end with no gaps, because a single open stretch is all the wind needs to lift the cover. Fill each tube about two thirds full so there is room for the water to expand when it freezes.
What is the difference between SuperGuard, SupremeGuard and SilverKing?
All three are solid Swimline winter covers that block water, debris and sunlight, and all three install the same way. The difference is the warranty and the color: SuperGuard is blue with an 8-year warranty and 1 year full, SupremeGuard is green with a 10-year warranty and 1 year full, and SilverKing is silver with a 15-year warranty and 2 years full.
Is a solid winter cover the same as a safety cover?
No, and this is the one thing to get right. A winter cover is a tarp that floats on the water and keeps debris out. It is not a barrier and will not support weight. A safety cover is anchored into the deck with springs and is built to the ASTM F1346 standard. If you need to keep children and pets out of the pool, buy a safety cover.
Can I put the cover on myself?
Two people and about half an hour. Skim the pool, lower the water to the level your closing instructions call for, float the cover out over the water rather than dragging it across the coping, then secure the perimeter. Doing it on a calm day makes the whole job easier.
