The Swimline 8' Single Chamber Water Tube, Black, part 500008WTSHDBLK, is a vinyl water bag that lays on the deck along the edge of a solid in ground winter cover and keeps wind from getting underneath, stocked under SKU PST-500008WTSHDBLK. Water tubes are what the cover was designed to be held down with, since a tube that shifts cannot chip coping or tear a liner the way a brick, block, or paver can. Fill it to roughly three quarters, not to the cap, because the water inside expands when it freezes and a full tube splits. Buy enough to run the tubes end to end with no gaps.

How full should I fill a water tube?
About three quarters. Leave air space so the water can expand when it freezes. Topping a tube off to the cap is the fastest way to find yourself buying replacements in March.
What is the difference between a single and a double chamber tube?
A double chamber tube is two sealed compartments in one bag, so a puncture on one side still leaves the other side full and the cover weighted. A single chamber tube empties completely.
Should I use a corner tube?
On a rectangular pool, yes. A short corner unit sits into the corner where a long straight tube leaves a gap, and gaps are exactly where winter wind lifts the cover.
