No cord, no outlet, no electric bill.
The Swimline 5436 Cover Saver siphon kit, stocked under SKU PST-SW5436, pulls standing water off an above ground pool winter cover using nothing but gravity, which makes it the answer when there is no outlet near the pool. Set the drain head on the cover, squeeze the primer bulb until water starts moving, and the siphon runs on its own until the cover is dry, then stops. The kit includes the cover drain, a siphon pump and hose. There is no motor to burn out.

How does it work without power?
It is a siphon. The drain head sits in the water on the cover and the hose runs down over the pool wall to lower ground. Squeeze the bulb to prime it and the difference in height keeps the flow going.
Does the hose end have to be lower than the cover?
Yes, that is what drives a siphon. If the discharge end is level with or above the water on the cover, it will not flow.
Is this better than an electric cover pump?
It needs no outlet, no cord and no GFCI, and there is no motor to burn out.

Needed to replace the control overlay on our Nordic Impulse hot tub, but could not find out the make or model number of the actual control panel on our tub. By taking measurements and photos or our actual control panel button positions and functions, I was able to narrow down the options. I ordered this overlay as the button positions seemed to be in the right positions, even though the overall size was smaller than the control panel. The overlay works, in that all buttons and functions are in the right place, and the overlay seems to have adhered well to the panel. It is not a perfect match, as it is smaller overall than it should be. But I am happy with the result and will buy an additional identical overlay as a backup in case this one, too, deteriorates at some point. Took a lot of detecting, but the result is successful!
