The Superior Pump 91875 main drain utility pump is built for one awkward job that comes up on every pool renovation and every deep clean out: getting the last of the water out of the bottom of an empty pool. Its narrow stainless steel body fits inside most 8 in main drains, so it can sit down in the sump instead of perched on the floor, and it will start pumping in about 3-1/2 in of water and pull the pool down to roughly 1 in. A continuous duty, thermally protected split capacitor motor drives a stainless impeller for up to 5580 GPH and up to 30 ft of lift.

Will it fit my main drain?
It is sized to drop inside most 8 in pool main drains. Measure the opening in your drain sump before ordering, since older and oversized drains vary.
Is it automatic?
No, it runs whenever it is plugged in. Stay with it during a drain down and unplug it once the water is gone so it is not running dry in an empty pool.
Can I drain my whole pool with it?
Yes, that is what it is for. Just be sure the water goes far enough away that it does not saturate the ground around the shell, and never drain a pool without checking hydrostatic pressure and your local rules first.
What does the 1-1/2 in adapter do?
The pump discharges at 1-1/4 in NPT. The included adapter steps that up to 1-1/2 in so you can connect to larger discharge hose without hunting for fittings.
