Superior Pump 90091 Mag Drive Utility and Cover Pump, 810 GPH
Small pump, long cord, no standing water.
The Superior Pump 90091 mag drive utility pump, stocked under SKU PST-90091, moves up to 810 GPH on a 55 watt motor and comes with a 25 ft power cord, which is what makes it practical for pulling rain and snowmelt off a winter pool cover. The reinforced thermoplastic body and non-clogging impeller pass 1/8 in solids, and the discharge takes both 1 in NPT pipe and a standard 3/4 in garden hose. It is a manual pump, so it runs whenever it is plugged in. A built in control valve lets you throttle the flow when you want a slower, steadier drain.

Does it shut itself off when the cover is dry?
No. This is a manual pump, so unplug it once the water is gone. Running a cover pump dry for hours shortens its life.
Can I use a garden hose on the discharge?
Yes. The included adapter threads onto any standard 3/4 in hose, so you can route the water off the deck and away from the pool wall.
Do I need a GFCI outlet?
Yes. Around a pool, NEC 680 calls for GFCI protection. Plug the pump into a GFCI receptacle and never lift or move it by the cord.
