SpaPure Spa Oxidizing Shock 2.2 lb, Non-Chlorine MPS Shock for Hot Tubs
Oxygen based shock. No added chlorine.
SpaPure Spa Oxidizing Shock (MPN C002476-CS20B3, SKU PST-SPA2476CS20B3) is a 2.2 lb granular, oxygen based oxidizer that shocks spa water without putting any chlorine into it. The formula runs on 45% potassium monopersulfate, dissolves fast, and pulls out the body oils, lotions, and organic waste that leave water looking dull and leave your sanitizer working harder than it should. Dose it weekly at 1.5 oz per 200 gallons, and spa entry can happen shortly after you add it.

How much do I add, and how soon can we get back in?
Use 1.5 ounces (2 tablespoons) per 200 gallons of spa water weekly in most cases. Broadcast it over the entire water surface with the pump running so it disperses, and add it more often if your spa is getting heavier use than normal. Because the granules dissolve quickly, spa entry can occur shortly after you add it.
Will this raise my chlorine or bromine level?
No. This is an oxygen based, non-chlorine oxidizer and it contains no chlorine. It removes the wastes and contaminants that were eating up your sanitizer, which revitalizes the chlorine or bromine already in the water. That also makes it the right companion shock if you run a silver ion or mineral cartridge system and are trying to hold down the amount of chlorine you use.
How should I handle and store it?
Balance the water first, to a pH of 7.2 to 7.6 and total alkalinity of 100 to 120 ppm, then dose. Always add the product to water, never water to the product, and never mix it with other chemicals, including chlorine or bromine products, in the same container or scoop. Store it sealed in a cool, dry spot away from children and pets, and read the container label in full before use.
