APC APCK1002S Multiport Valve Repair Kit with Spring -- Hayward SP710X / SP712
OEM-equivalent spider gasket and rotor spring kit for Hayward Vari-Flo XL top-mount valves.
The APC APCK1002S (legacy P/N APCKIT10 with spring) is the full service kit for Hayward's SP710X (Vari-Flo XL) and SP712 top-mount multiport valves. It includes the spider gasket, valve cover O-ring, diverter assembly O-rings, and the rotor spring that keeps the handle positively indexed in each port detent.

Do I need the kit with the spring, or just the gasket?
If your valve handle does not click positively into each port detent (Filter, Backwash, Rinse, etc.), the rotor spring is worn and you want this kit (with spring). If the handle still indexes crisply and only the spider gasket is leaking, the gasket-only kit (APCK1002) is sufficient.
How do I know the spider gasket has failed?
Symptoms include backwash water flowing back to the pool in Filter mode, sand coming out the waste line, or unexplained pressure drops. Lift the valve cover and inspect the rotor face: a compressed, cracked, or torn spider gasket needs replacement.
Can I install this myself?
Yes. Shut off the pump, remove the valve cover, lift the rotor, replace the spider gasket and O-rings, lubricate everything with pool-grade silicone, reinstall the spring, and reassemble. Allow 30 to 60 minutes for a first-time rebuild.

Just what I needed for my syllent pump that comes with no Jacuzzi pump coupler. Do need a 1 1/2x1 1/4 reducer but everything will work out just fine..
