Pentair 274417Z Waste Seal for the FullFloXF Backwash Valve
Seals off the waste port while the valve is in the Filter position
The Pentair 274417Z waste seal is the seal inside a Pentair FullFloXF backwash valve that blocks off the waste port when the valve is in the Filter position. It sits in a key on the center diverter, backed by the waste seal spring (274421Z). Pentair's troubleshooting chart lists a dirty or damaged seal as one cause of water leaking to waste.

My valve leaks to waste. Is it the seal?
Pentair lists dirt on the seal or a damaged seal as a cause of leaking to waste, fixed by servicing the valve. If the valve bore is scratched or heat damaged, Pentair says to replace the valve instead.
Which way does the seal go in?
There are two possible positions. The text on the center diverter states which side takes the seal, and the guide shows setup A for valves with the filter inlet on top and setup B for inlet on the bottom. In the Filter position the waste seal should block the waste port.
Is the spring included?
Pentair lists the waste seal spring as its own part, 274421Z.

The process was smooth and lights arived as expected. Everything test out in good working order.
Needed to replace the control overlay on our Nordic Impulse hot tub, but could not find out the make or model number of the actual control panel on our tub. By taking measurements and photos or our actual control panel button positions and functions, I was able to narrow down the options. I ordered this overlay as the button positions seemed to be in the right positions, even though the overall size was smaller than the control panel. The overlay works, in that all buttons and functions are in the right place, and the overlay seems to have adhered well to the panel. It is not a perfect match, as it is smaller overall than it should be. But I am happy with the result and will buy an additional identical overlay as a backup in case this one, too, deteriorates at some point. Took a lot of detecting, but the result is successful!

I accidentally broke the original knob by tightening it too much. This was a perfect fit and works 100%. Fast delivery too!
Swapped out broken heater (lasted about 6 years) for this one. The instructions are for the electronics, not for the plumbing. You must get everything perfectly aligned or the plumbing may leak. I needed to loosen the electronics box to get the plumbing perfectly aligned. I have hot water again.
