SeaKlear Pool Opening and Closing Kit, Up To 20,000 Gallons
One kit that works at both ends of the season.
The SeaKlear opening and closing kit, part SK1115008 and stocked under SKU PST-SK1115008, is built to be used twice: once when you close and once when you open, on pools up to 20,000 gallons. It contains 1 quart of SeaKlear 90 Day Algaecide, 1 quart of Metal Klear to keep dissolved iron and copper from staining, and 1 quart of Free N Klear, a chitosan clarifier that also carries a phosphate remover and enzymes. That last one does a lot of work at opening, pulling suspended matter together so the filter can actually catch it instead of passing it back into the pool.

Is this for closing or for opening?
Both. The kit is dosed so you can treat at closing and again at opening on a pool up to 20,000 gallons, which is why it covers algae, metals, and clarity rather than just one of the three.
What is a chitosan clarifier?
Chitosan is a natural polymer that binds fine suspended particles into clumps large enough for the filter to trap. It is what turns cloudy opening water clear without a week of running the pump.
Do I need Metal Klear if I am on city water?
It depends on your fill water and your equipment. Copper can come from heat exchangers and from some algaecides, and iron shows up on well water. If you have ever seen a brown or blue green stain, you need it.
