It packages 1 quart of winterizer, 1 quart of Winter Stain Out, 1 quart of Winter Deodor, and 4 lb 5 oz of Winter G tablets. The deodorizer is the piece owners appreciate most at opening, because a pool that sat closed for five months over decomposing organics does not smell good when the cover comes off. Treating for it in the fall is far easier than dealing with it in the spring.

What does the Winter Deodor do?
It controls the odor that builds up when organic material breaks down in a closed pool over months. It is a spring opening quality of life product more than a water chemistry one.
Is 25,000 gallons my pool?
For a rectangle, multiply length by width by average depth by 7.5 to get gallons. Most 16 x 32 in ground pools land in the 18,000 to 22,000 range, so this kit fits them comfortably.
Should I still use a separate polyquat algaecide?
On a large pool, an uncovered pool, or one under a mesh cover, adding a dedicated polyquat winter algaecide is cheap insurance on top of the kit.
