Both units sound an 85 dB horn the instant a child opens the door. The difference is the pass-through. The DAPT-2 uses a button on the alarm that an adult presses before opening the door from inside. The DAPT-WT adds an outdoor wireless transmitter so adults can also re-enter from outside (back from the pool, the yard, the driveway) without setting off the alarm.
