Description

Meyco Hex Key 15" Long ( Allen Wrench), Pool Safety Cover Hardware, Part KEY

Genuine Meyco parts, ready for closing day.

Meyco Hex Key 15" Long ( Allen Wrench), part KEY, is a genuine Meyco safety cover component stocked under SKU PST-KEY. Meyco cover hardware is solid brass and stainless steel, from the screw type deck anchors that sit flush with the deck to the springs, buckles, rods, and tamping tools that set and tension the cover. Replace the one piece that failed instead of a full hardware set, and check the new part against the one it replaces before install. Anchor work also calls for a tamping tool and a hex key, both sold separately.

Good to Know

Will Meyco hardware work with another brand of safety cover?

Match hardware to your cover brand whenever you can. Brass deck anchors and stainless springs look alike across brands, but spring length, buckle width, strap width, and anchor threads vary. Compare the new piece to the one you are pulling before you install it.

Do I need the tamping tool and hex key?

For anchor work, yes. The tamping tool drops inside the anchor body so hammering it into the deck does not damage the top rim or the brass insert, and the long hex key raises and lowers the anchor insert from a standing position. An installation rod makes stretching springs onto the anchors far easier.

When should I replace springs, anchors, and buckles?

Replace a spring once it stays compressed, loses tension, or shows rust and pitting. Replace an anchor that spins in the deck, will not raise or lower, or has stripped threads. Replace buckles and webbing when the stitching frays. Fall closing is the easiest time to catch all of it.
