The Merlin Dura-Mesh II Safety Cover for 16'6" x 32'6" Grecian w/ Offset Step pools (SKU PST-58MMGR, MPN 58MMGR) is a heat treated polypropylene mesh built 33% thicker and 68% stronger than standard mesh, which is why Merlin puts a 15-year warranty behind it. The 6.4 oz per square yard weave delivers 95% shade and filters water down to 85 microns while rain and snowmelt drain straight through, so there is no cover pump and no standing water. Straps are heavy duty and triple stitched into specially formulated polypropylene and nylon 2-ply webbing that crosses the pool in both directions. What size cover should I order?
Order by your pool's water dimensions. A 16'6" x 32'6" cover is built for a 16'6" x 32'6" pool and the finished fabric is cut larger so it overlaps the deck and reaches the anchors on all sides. If your pool has a step section, order the matching step shape so the cover follows your outline instead of bridging over the steps.
Can I install a safety cover myself?
Most owners can. You lay the cover out, drill anchor sockets into the concrete deck with a hammer drill and masonry bit, set the included brass anchors, then stretch each spring on with the included installation rod. Merlin also offers stainless steel and wood deck anchors at extra cost. A second set of hands makes the first fit much easier.
Do I need a cover pump?
No. Mesh drains rain and snowmelt straight through into the pool, so there is nothing standing on the surface to pump off. Leaves and debris stay on top where they dry out and blow or brush away.
