Little Giant 5-MSP Water Wizard Submersible Utility Pump
Aluminum bodied, 1200 gallons an hour, no drama.
The Little Giant 5-MSP Water Wizard is a submersible utility pump for jobs a cover pump is too small for: 1/6 HP moving up to 1200 GPH through an epoxy coated cast aluminum housing. It drains a flooded cover, empties a spa or a hot tub, lowers a pool below the skimmer for closing, and clears a window well the rest of the year. The shaded pole motor is permanently lubricated and thermally protected, and this version ships with an 18 ft power cord and a garden hose adapter so you can put the discharge wherever you want it.
Why PST Customers Pick This
1200 GPH Of Real Output
Rated 1200 GPH at 1 ft of head. That is fast enough to drop a pool below the skimmer or clear a badly flooded cover in a reasonable afternoon.
Cast Aluminum Body
The epoxy coated cast aluminum housing gives the pump strength and sheds motor heat during long runs.
Thermally Protected Motor
The permanently lubricated shaded pole motor has built in thermal overload protection, so a blocked intake shuts it down instead of burning it out.
Garden Hose Discharge
The included 3/4 in garden hose adapter lets you thread on any standard hose and run the water to a drain, the street, or a low spot in the yard.
Works All Year
Closing and opening are the pool jobs, but the same pump handles basement water, water features, and job site cleanup.
18 ft Cord
Long enough to reach a GFCI outlet from the deep end or the bottom of a stairwell without hanging an extension cord in the water.
Electrical Safety
Plug the pump into a GFCI protected receptacle, as NEC 680 requires for equipment used around a pool. Do not use an extension cord in standing water and never carry the pump by its cord.

Frequently Asked Questions
Is the 5-MSP automatic?
No. It is a manual utility pump, so it runs whenever it is plugged in. If you need it to cycle on its own, pair it with an external float switch or choose a pump with an integral switch.
Can I use it to lower my pool for closing?
Yes, that is one of its best uses. Set it on the step or the bottom, thread a garden hose onto the discharge, and run the water well away from the pool so it does not soak back around the walls.
How low does it pump down?
The 5-MSP is a utility pump, not a flat suction cover pump, but in manual operation it pumps down to about 1/8 in of water with its screen in place.
Why aluminum instead of plastic?
The epoxy coated aluminum housing tolerates rough handling and dissipates motor heat, which is exactly what a pump needs when it runs for hours draining a pool.

Let customers speak for us
All I can say is great customer service. Their products are good too
We had the older version and this dropped right in. Great buy!
I can’t wait for my mini Goldendoodle to be buzz for Halloween! It’s not bulky and small that it won’t bother him. He’s 32 lbs and I got the M/L
No issues with it. I received great customer service ensuring I chose the right thing and shipping was really fast.
Can not say enough about the Balboa retro fit system. I’m no expert, but I watched a you tube video and installed it myself. Hot tub is 14 years old and is up and running like new. Very pleased with my purchase. Thank you.
The process was smooth and lights arived as expected. Everything test out in good working order.
Needed to replace the control overlay on our Nordic Impulse hot tub, but could not find out the make or model number of the actual control panel on our tub. By taking measurements and photos or our actual control panel button positions and functions, I was able to narrow down the options. I ordered this overlay as the button positions seemed to be in the right positions, even though the overall size was smaller than the control panel. The overlay works, in that all buttons and functions are in the right place, and the overlay seems to have adhered well to the panel. It is not a perfect match, as it is smaller overall than it should be. But I am happy with the result and will buy an additional identical overlay as a backup in case this one, too, deteriorates at some point. Took a lot of detecting, but the result is successful!
This costume is legit. It has the sparkle, glittery sheen to it like the one used on screen! Very happy with it!!
Excellent service!
PST was great at communicating the status of my order throughout the various stages. I actually did encounter a shipment issue and they handled it without issue. I will be doing business again with them.
