What is the difference between the 5000M, the 7000MS and the 9000MX?
The 5000M is Latham's standard micro weave mesh: 5 oz fabric, 91% sun block, 15-year warranty. The 7000MS on this page is the high shade step up, an ultra-fine 7 oz weave that blocks 99% of sunlight, filters to 40 microns, and carries a 20-year warranty. The 9000MX is the reinforced heavy duty mesh with a 25-year warranty. All three anchor and tension the same way.
How is this different from the solid HD 1000V cover?
The 7000MS is mesh, so water drains through it and you never need a pump. The HD 1000V is 12 oz solid vinyl that blocks 100% of light and all debris, and it moves water off the surface through Latham's Invis-A-Drain panel. Mesh is lighter and lower maintenance; solid keeps every speck of dirt out. Most owners in snow country pick mesh.
What size cover should I order?
Order by your pool's water dimensions. A 18' x 37' cover is built for a 18' x 37' pool, and the finished fabric is cut larger so it overlaps the deck and reaches the anchors on all sides. If your pool has a step section, order the matching step shape so the cover follows your outline instead of bridging over the steps.
Can I install this myself?

The first install means laying the cover out, drilling anchor sockets in the concrete deck with a hammer drill and masonry bit, setting the brass anchors, then stretching each spring on with the included installation tool. Do I need a cover pump with this cover?

Will the 99% shade actually stop spring algae?
