GLI Heavy Duty 10' Double Chamber Water Tube, Black, In Ground Winter Cover Weight
Thicker vinyl for the pools that go through real winter.
The GLI heavy duty 10' Double Chamber Water Tube, Black, part 500010WTDHDBLK, is a thicker walled version of the standard water tube, built for climates where the deck ices over and stays that way, stocked under SKU PST-500010WTDHDBLK. It lays along the edge of a solid in ground winter cover and holds it against wind without the liner risk that comes from weighting a cover with blocks or bricks. The double chamber design means one puncture does not empty the whole tube. Fill each chamber about three quarters full so the ice has somewhere to expand.

What makes the heavy duty tube different?
Thicker vinyl. It resists abrasion on rough concrete and stone coping and holds up better to repeated freeze and thaw cycles, so it usually survives more seasons than a standard tube.
How full should I fill it?
About three quarters per chamber. Heavier vinyl does not change the physics, water still expands when it freezes and a tube filled to the cap will burst.
How many tubes should I order?
Enough to lay end to end all the way around the cover. Divide your pool perimeter in feet by the tube length, then add a couple of spares, since a split tube in January is hard to replace.
