The Gizzmo GIZ4 Ultra (SKU PST-GIZ4) is the original Gizzmo skimmer winterizing plug, 16 inches deep with dual 1-1/2 in and 2 in tapered pipe threads and a built-in blowout tube. Thread it into your skimmer at closing, and the sealed air column compresses as ice forms, absorbing expansion pressure that would otherwise crack the skimmer housing or plumbing. The integral blowout tube lets you clear suction lines without dropping the pool water level. One tool, both threads, every fall.

How does the Gizzmo protect my skimmer?
The sealed 16 in air column inside the Ultra Gizzmo compresses as ice forms in the skimmer throat and absorbs the expansion. Pressure that would otherwise crack the skimmer housing or split the plumbing gets taken up by the plug instead.
Will it fit both 1-1/2 in and 2 in skimmers?
Yes. The Ultra GIZ4 has tapered pipe threads in both sizes molded onto the same body with rubber gaskets, so you can use one plug across an entire pool or service route. For a snug seal, wrap the threads with Teflon tape.
Can I install this myself?
Yes. Drop the water level just below the skimmer mouth, thread the Gizzmo into the bottom suction port (Teflon tape recommended), blow out the suction line through the integral tube, cap it, and you are done. No tools needed.
