What size hot tub does the FROG @ease Floating System work in?
It is built for hot tubs and spas holding up to 600 gallons. For very small spas the same holder still works, you just replace the SmartChlor cartridge on the shorter end of the 3 to 4 week window based on how heavily you use the tub.
How does it use up to 75% less chlorine?
SmartChlor is a patented, time-released form of chlorine that only puts out what the water demands and holds a low 0.5 to 1.0 ppm level. Paired with FROG minerals that also kill bacteria, you need far less chlorine than a traditional dichlor spa that spikes and crashes with every soak.
When do I replace the cartridges?
The mineral cartridge lasts about 4 months or until you drain and refill the tub. The SmartChlor cartridge lasts roughly 3 to 4 weeks. The holder flips upside down in the water as a visual reminder when the SmartChlor cartridge is used up. Replacement SmartChlor cartridges are sold under part 01-14-3258.
Do I still need to shock the water?
Yes, but far less often. Because the system keeps chlorine steady, most owners shock about once a month instead of weekly. Always follow the label directions for the shock product you use.
Can I set this up myself?
Yes. There is no plumbing and no tools. Set the mineral cartridge's month dial to your fill date, snap the SmartChlor cartridge into the same floating holder, and drop it in the tub. It will float at a slight tilt and start working on its own.
