Description
Danner Cover Care CC500 Magnetic Drive Pool Cover Pump, 500 GPH
More flow, same sealless design.
The Danner Cover Care CC500 is the higher output version of the Cover Care line, moving up to 500 GPH off a winter pool cover through the same magnetic drive design that eliminates shaft seals and oil entirely. That extra flow is what you want on a large in ground cover or anywhere a storm can drop several inches before you get outside. It sits fully submerged on the cover, drains down to about 1/8 in of water, threads onto any standard 3/4 in garden hose, and comes with a 25 ft power cord. A removable foam prefilter keeps leaf grit out of the impeller and rinses clean in seconds.
Why PST Customers Pick This
500 GPH Of Output
Roughly 40 percent more flow than the CC350, which is the difference between clearing a big cover before dark and coming back to it tomorrow.
Magnetic Drive
No shaft through the wet end means no seal to fail and no oil in the housing that could end up in your pool.
Drains To 1/8 in
Keeps pulling water down to about an eighth of an inch, so the cover is left nearly dry instead of holding a film that turns to ice.
Removable Foam Prefilter
Catches the debris that clogs ordinary cover pumps and pops off for a quick rinse, no tools and no disassembly.
Low Power Draw
Uses about half the electricity of a comparable motor driven cover pump, which matters when the pump runs off and on for months.
UL Listed, 5 Year Warranty
Safety listed and covered by a 5 year limited warranty from Danner Manufacturing.
Electrical Safety
Plug the pump into a GFCI protected receptacle, as NEC 680 requires for equipment used around a pool. Never lift or drag the pump by its power cord, and unplug it before removing the foam filter.

Frequently Asked Questions
Do I need the 500 GPH or is 350 enough?
Choose the CC500 for a large in ground cover, a mesh cover that passes a lot of water, or a region that gets heavy winter rain. The CC350 is fine for smaller covers and lighter weather.
Is the CC500 automatic?
No. This model is manual, so it runs whenever it is plugged in. Unplug it once the cover is clear rather than letting it run dry.
Can I leave it on the cover all winter?
Take it in once the cover freezes solid. A pump frozen into the ice can crack its housing, and freeze damage is not a warranty claim.
What maintenance does it need?
Rinse the foam prefilter whenever you check the pool. At spring opening, flush the pump with clean water, dry it fully, and store it indoors.
