The Hayward SP0735 Deluxe Ball Valve is a 4-way valve with 1-1/2" female pipe threads. Hayward's owner's manual calls it a multi-functional valve that directs, controls, mixes, proportions or completely shuts off flow, rated for pool or spa service to 50 PSI.

How does the 4-way valve work?
Hayward says the SP0735 4-way valve has three ports in the body and four ports in the ball. The two side ports are directional and the third port is common, and the common port can connect to either the suction or the discharge line.
Can it split flow between two lines?
Yes. Hayward says that with the handle between "FULL" and 1/2 / 1/2 the valve gives simultaneous flow in both port directions, and at 1/2 / 1/2 flow is equal to or from both ports. Turning the handle toward "FULL" for a port increases flow for that port and decreases it at the opposite port.
Is there a socket version?

Needed to replace the control overlay on our Nordic Impulse hot tub, but could not find out the make or model number of the actual control panel on our tub. By taking measurements and photos or our actual control panel button positions and functions, I was able to narrow down the options. I ordered this overlay as the button positions seemed to be in the right positions, even though the overall size was smaller than the control panel. The overlay works, in that all buttons and functions are in the right place, and the overlay seems to have adhered well to the panel. It is not a perfect match, as it is smaller overall than it should be. But I am happy with the result and will buy an additional identical overlay as a backup in case this one, too, deteriorates at some point. Took a lot of detecting, but the result is successful!
