Genuine OEM standpipe and tube sheet assembly.
The Pentair 59053500 center core (PST SKU PST-17-110-1212) is the one-piece standpipe and tube sheet assembly for 50 sq ft Clean & Clear and Clean & Clear Predator tanks. It holds the cartridge square in the tank, seals the clean side into the lid port, and carries filtered water down to the outlet fitting. This is the smallest core in the family and the one most often cracked by overtightening the clamp band on reassembly.

Which center core fits my filter?
Go by the square footage on your filter data label, not the tank diameter, because the shells look alike across sizes. Pentair splits the family four ways: 50 sq ft takes this core, 59053500, 75 sq ft takes 59053600, 100 and 125 sq ft take 59053700, and 150, 175, and 200 sq ft take 59053800. They are not interchangeable, regardless of what marketplace listings claiming one core fits every size tell you.
Does this include the filter cartridge?
No. The 59053500 is the core only. The 50 sq ft element that slides over it is a separate part. If the cartridge already has a couple of seasons on it, replace both together, because a new core wrapped in tired media returns only part of the flow you are paying for.
What goes wrong when the core wears out?
Water stops going through the media and starts going around it. A cracked tube sheet or a split standpipe opens a path straight into the clean side, so debris comes back to the pool within hours of a cleaning and tank pressure never climbs the way it used to. On this size the usual cause is clamp band torque, so tighten evenly and stop when the band seats rather than pulling it down hard.
