Good to Know

Is Boss 801 safe to use underwater on pool tile and light niches?

Yes. Boss 801 is a neutral cure silicone formulated for pool and spa environments, so it stays flexible and waterproof once fully cured. Let the bead skin and cure out of water before refilling the pool, then it can stay submerged.

How do I apply it?

Clean and dry the surface, remove soap film, oil, or grease, then cut the cartridge tip and screw on the nozzle. Trim the nozzle at a 45 degree angle, load it into a standard caulk gun, and push the bead ahead of the tip to fill the joint. Tool with a spatula or wooden paddle for a clean finish.

What is the difference between Boss 801 and Boss 802?

Boss 801 is a neutral cure silicone built for pool, spa, and tile work where corrosion of metal fittings is a concern. Boss 802 is an acid cure silicone for non-metal tile applications. For spa jets, skimmers, and light niches, stick with 801.
