Genuine Hayward SPX1500LX pump strainer basket for PowerFlo and PowerFlo LX SP1500, SP1580, and SP1700 pump trap bodies built after 1992. This is the OEM replacement for a cracked or collapsed basket, it catches leaves, hair, and debris before they reach the impeller. Basket is marked SP1500LX and cross-references to Aladdin B-220 and 27180-220.

How do I know this fits my pump?
Pull your old basket and check the number molded into it. If it reads SP1500LX, or your pump trap is a Hayward PowerFlo / PowerFlo LX SP1500, SP1580, or SP1700 built after 1992, this is the correct basket. If unsure, measure: this basket is 7-3/8 in tall with a 5-5/8 in top OD. Pre-1992 pumps use a different basket.
What do the Aladdin B-220 and 27180-220 numbers mean?
Those are aftermarket cross-reference numbers for the same basket. Aladdin (B-220) and generic (27180-220) parts interchange with the Hayward OEM SPX1500LX. This listing is the genuine Hayward part, but if a catalog lists your basket under one of those numbers, it is the same fit.
How often should I replace the basket?
Replace when the basket is cracked, split at the seam, or missing chunks of the mesh, a broken basket lets debris through to the impeller where it can clog or damage the pump. Inspect at every basket cleaning and swap it at the first sign of brittleness, especially on baskets that have seen years of sun and chlorine.
