APC APCK1024 Pump Repair Kit -- Hayward Super Pump
OEM-equivalent shaft seal, O-rings, and gaskets for the original Hayward Super Pump.
The APC APCK1024 (legacy P/N APCKIT3) is the standard service kit for the Hayward Super Pump (SP1600, SP2600, and related single-speed and two-speed Super Pump models). The seal is the wear part most likely to fail first on this pump line, and catching the leak early with a $20 kit prevents the leak from running down the shaft into the motor bearings.

What is the difference between APCK1024 and APCK1024A?
APCK1024 is the standard kit with a Buna-N (NBR) elastomer shaft seal. APCK1024A is the ozone-resistant upgrade using a 3868 Viton (FKM) seal. Choose 1024A if you have any ozone generator on the equipment pad.
Which Super Pump models does this fit?
All single-speed and 2-speed Hayward Super Pump models in the SP1600 and SP2600 families that use the PS-200 shaft seal. Also fits a number of related Hayward pumps sharing the same wet-end design. Match your pump's model number against the SPX parts diagram before ordering.
Can I install this myself?
Yes. Disconnect power at the breaker, unscrew the volute bolts in a star pattern, separate the motor from the wet-end, replace the impeller seal and all O-rings, lubricate with pool-grade silicone, reassemble, and torque the bolts in a star pattern. About 45 minutes for a first-time rebuild.

Our pool and spa are over 25 yrs old. When the spa air button stopped working, we found that it was no longer avaliable. We did some online searching and found that this was a good replacement option and found it on the PST Pool Supplies website.
