The GLI Estate Series solid winter cover for 12' x 24' in-ground pools (SKU PST-451224REEST5BX) shuts your pool down for the off-season behind an opaque polyethylene panel that blocks all sunlight, so algae has nothing to feed on and not one leaf reaches the water. The finished cover measures 17' x 29', giving you 5' more than the pool in each direction to lay out flat on the deck and anchor down. Brass grommets and loops run the full perimeter for water tubes.

Total Sunlight Block

What size cover do I need for my pool?
Order by pool size, not cover size. This cover is built for a 12' x 24' pool and ships as a 17' x 29' panel, which gives you 5' of extra material across each dimension to lay on the deck. Measure your water surface at its longest and widest points and match that number.
Do I need water tubes and a cover pump?
Yes to both. Brass grommets and loops run the perimeter so water tubes can hold the edge down; never use bricks or blocks, which chip coping and tear fabric. Because the cover is solid, rain and snowmelt collect on top, so a cover pump is needed to keep that weight off the seams.
How is a solid cover different from a mesh safety cover?
A solid cover blocks 100% of sunlight and every particle of debris, which means the cleanest possible water at opening, but it holds water on the surface and needs a pump. A mesh safety cover drains through and anchors into the deck to hold weight. This is a winter cover, not a safety cover, and is not rated to support a person.
What does the warranty cover?
GLI backs this cover for 12 years limited, with the first 2 years at full coverage and the balance pro-rated. It covers defects in materials and workmanship. Damage from ice, standing water, storms, animals or improper installation is not covered, which is exactly why a cover pump and a full set of water tubes matter.
