The GLI Secur-A-Pool 20' x 40' mesh safety cover in Green (SKU PST-202040RECES48SAPGRN) locks an in-ground pool down for the off-season behind a patented polypropylene mesh blend with an increased weave count. Rain and snowmelt drain straight through to the pool while dirt and leaves stay on top, so nothing ponds on the surface and there is no cover pump to run through a freeze. Anchored into the deck, it meets ASTM F 1346-91 and is built to hold the weight of a child or a pet that wanders onto it.

Is this a safety cover or a winter cover?
Both. Secur-A-Pool is a true safety cover that meets ASTM F 1346-91, meaning it anchors into the deck and is built to hold weight, and it also does the winter job of keeping the pool clean. An ordinary solid winter cover does neither of those things and should never be walked on.
What size do I order for my pool?
Order by pool size. This cover is cut for a 20' x 40' pool and extends roughly a foot past the edge in each direction so the anchors land in the deck. Measure your water surface at the longest and widest points. If your pool has steps outside the rectangle, order the matching step layout instead of a plain rectangle.
Do I need a cover pump with a mesh cover?
No. Rain and snowmelt drain through the mesh into the pool, so nothing accumulates on the surface and there is no pump to run. Expect the water level to rise over the winter and plan to lower it at opening. You will also see a little more fine sediment than with a solid cover, since the weave passes dust.
What is included and what do I need to install it?
The cover ships with brass deck anchors, stainless steel springs, an installation rod and a storage bag. Installation means drilling anchor holes in the deck at the marked positions, which most owners hire out the first season. Once the anchors are set, taking the cover on and off each year is a one-person job.
How long does the GLI warranty run?
GLI covers Secur-A-Pool with a 15 year limited warranty with 3 year full coverage, then pro-rated for the balance. It applies to defects in materials and workmanship. Ice damage, storm damage and improper anchoring are not covered.
