Description
Solaxx CLG225A Saltron Reliant, 25,000 Gallon Inline Salt Chlorine Generator
Inground salt sanitization, built to last.
The Solaxx CLG225A Saltron Reliant (SKU PST-CLG225A) is the inline inground salt chlorine generator sized for residential pools up to 25,000 gallons. It produces 1.15 lb of chlorine per 24 hours on a universal 90-260 VAC switch-mode power supply, with operating ranges of 500-6,000 ppm salt and 50-90 F water temperature. Backed by a 3-year manufacturer warranty, the Reliant is positioned as Solaxx's go-to inground inline cell for owners replacing a competitor unit or adding salt to a chlorine-tab pool.
Why PST Customers Pick This
Sized for Inground Pools
Rated for residential pools up to 25,000 gallons, the Reliant ships as the inline inground kit with the cell housing and plumbing fittings intended to splice into existing PVC. For above-ground or on-ground pools at 20K gallons, see the Reliant AG (CLG220A) variant.
90-260 VAC Universal Power
A switch-mode power supply handles any voltage from 90 to 260 VAC, so the same unit drops onto US 110V or 220V service without a separate model SKU. Smooth DC current to the cell at any output setting.
1.15 lb Cl per 24 Hours
Steady 21.7 grams per hour (1.15 lb per 24 hr) of free chlorine via electrolysis of dissolved salt. Eight production levels let you dial output to bather load and weather, with a Super Chlor button for full-output recovery after a heavy weekend or storm.
3-Year Manufacturer Warranty
Solaxx backs the Saltron Reliant with a 3-year manufacturer warranty, a full year longer than the Reliant AG version. The longer coverage reflects the unit's intended position as the inground flagship for pool builders and high-cycle installations.
Tinted Anti-UV Control Face
The membrane switch panel sits behind an anti-UV tinted window so direct sun and rain do not chew through the keypad. LED indicators show salt level, water flow, temperature, and system status at a glance.
Flow + Temp Cell Protection
Built-in flow and temperature sensors shut the cell down when water is not moving or has dropped below 50 F. Prevents the dry-fire and freeze damage that ends most salt cells prematurely, and is the #1 reason Reliant cells last.
Installation Notice
All 90-260 VAC pool equipment must be installed on a GFCI-protected circuit per NEC 680, and the cell housing must be bonded to the pool equipotential grid. Plumb the flow cell downstream of the filter and heater, never on the suction side. Keep at least 18 inches of straight pipe upstream of the cell for accurate flow sensing.

Frequently Asked Questions
How is the CLG225A different from the CLG220A Reliant AG?
Both produce the same 1.15 lb of chlorine per 24 hours and share identical voltage, salt, and temperature ranges. The differences are positioning and warranty: the CLG225A (Saltron Reliant) is the inline inground unit rated for 25,000 gallons with a 3-year warranty. The CLG220A (Reliant AG) is shipped as the above-ground kit, rated for 20,000 gallons, with a 2-year warranty. Same electronics, different install kit and coverage.
Will it handle a pool larger than 25,000 gallons?
The cell can technically produce 1.15 lb of chlorine per 24 hours regardless of pool size, but on a 30,000+ gallon pool you would need to run it 24/7 to keep up with demand. Solaxx caps the recommended pool size at 25,000 gallons because that is where the cell can comfortably hold a free chlorine residual with normal pump-on hours and standard bather loads.
What salt level should I run?
The cell operates from 500 ppm to 6,000 ppm, but Solaxx's recommended set point is around 3,000-3,500 ppm for most installations. Test with a digital meter or strip designed for pool salt, and add salt slowly with the pump running. Overshooting is hard to correct, you can only dilute by partial drain and refill.
Can the Reliant replace my existing Hayward or Pentair cell?
Yes, the Reliant is one of the more common direct-replacement upgrades for failed Hayward T-Cell-15 or Pentair IC40 systems. You will need to cut new flange unions to match the Solaxx flow cell dimensions, but the power supply, salt range, and chlorine output land in the same band as the OEM units. Many owners pick the Reliant for the universal voltage and replaceable plate cell rather than a sealed unit.
Can I install this myself?
If you are comfortable cutting and gluing 1.5 in or 2 in PVC and have an existing GFCI-protected outlet, yes. You will plumb the cell downstream of the filter and heater, mount the control box within the included cable length, and bond the cell housing to the pool equipotential grid. New circuits, hardwiring, or bonding work should go to a licensed electrician per NEC 680.
