The complete grid nest for the DE3620.
The Hayward DEX3600DC is the filter element cluster assembly for the ProGrid DE3620, Hayward's 36 sq ft vertical grid DE filter. It replaces the whole grid nest at once: Hayward lists it as the complete set of elements, collectors, locators and manifold. The curved vertical elements wear Hayward's monofilament polypropylene filter cloth, which the DE pre-coat covers.

Will it fit my DE3620 ProGrid filter?
Yes. Hayward Support identifies the DEX3600DC as the element cluster for the DE3620 ProGrid, and the ProGrid owner's manual lists it as the DE3620 filter element cluster assembly. It also appears in the parts diagrams for both pre-2009 and 2009-and-later ProGrid filters.
How do I get the old cluster out?
Backwash first, shut off the pumps and power, open the manual air relief valve and drain the filter. Remove the clamp and lift off the upper body. Hose the cluster down (Hayward suggests its EC2024 cleaning wand), rock it side to side to free the manifold from the vertical outlet elbow, then lift it straight up by the lift handles.
How do I reinstall it?
Lubricate the outlet elbow O-rings with Jack's Formula 327 Multilube and set the cluster in the tank with the top collector manifold outlet over the outlet elbow O-ring. Reassemble with genuine Hayward clamp parts and torque the clamp nut to 150 inch-lbs.
How much DE does the DE3620 take?
Hayward recommends 4.5 lb of DE for the DE3620. Add the pre-coat promptly: running the filter more than a minute or two without it can damage the grid elements.

Swapped out broken heater (lasted about 6 years) for this one. The instructions are for the electronics, not for the plumbing. You must get everything perfectly aligned or the plumbing may leak. I needed to loosen the electronics box to get the plumbing perfectly aligned. I have hot water again.

PST pool supplies are great to work with. I was having trouble finding this heat exchanger . Everywhere I looked, it was out of stock or back ordered. I contacted the manufacturer about buying the heat exchanger. They told me I couldn't buy it because I wasn't a dealer. If I was a dealer, they would be able to take the order.
