In & Above Ground Swimming Pool Filter Parts & Accessories

Restore your pool filter to peak performance with the right replacement filter parts — O-rings, DE grids, multiport valves, drain caps, gaskets, and diffusers for all major filter brands. PST Pool Supplies stocks an extensive range of OEM and compatible filter components for Pentair, Hayward, Jacuzzi, Zodiac, Waterco, Waterway, Sta-Rite, and PacFab filters, with prices starting from just $17.

DE filter grids are one of the most commonly replaced filter components — the woven fabric degrades over time from chemical exposure and backwash pressure, leading to DE powder passing through into the pool. PST stocks full and partial DE grids for 24, 48, 60, and 72 square foot filter configurations compatible with Pentair, Hayward, Jacuzzi, and Zodiac DE filters. O-rings and gaskets are essential maintenance items for any filter: tank lid O-rings (Hayward S220, StarClear II; Pentair/PacFab/Sta-Rite; Waterco UltraMite/HRV; Waterway Clearwater) prevent leaks at the filter head and should be replaced whenever the filter is opened for service. Diffuser O-rings (Hayward Max-Flo, Pentair/PacFab/Sta-Rite) maintain flow efficiency inside the filter body. The Pentair PacFab DE filter multiport valve (2" threaded, 8-position) is a popular replacement for filters with worn or leaking MPVs. Also see our dedicated Jacuzzi filter parts collection for Jacuzzi-specific components. Filter installation diagrams are available at Pentair's official support portal and Hayward's technical resources page.

Identifying the correct filter part requires your filter's model number, typically found on a label on the tank body or on the filter head. O-ring sizes are model-specific — even filters in the same product family may use different O-ring cross-sections. When servicing a filter, replace all O-rings in the disassembly path rather than only the ones that are visibly damaged — this prevents a return visit shortly after for a secondary leak. Apply a thin coat of silicone lubricant (never petroleum-based products, which degrade rubber) to all O-rings before reassembly. If you're unsure which part you need, contact our team with your filter model and symptom and we'll identify the right part before you order.

Frequently Asked Questions

How do I find the right O-ring for my pool filter?
Pool filter O-rings are model-specific — the correct O-ring is determined by your filter's exact model number, not just the brand or filter type. Start by locating your filter's model number on the label on the tank body or the filter head. Then look up the part number for the specific O-ring location you need (tank lid, tank body, diffuser, etc.) — these are listed in your filter's owner's manual or available in the manufacturer's online parts diagrams. Common tank lid O-rings in this collection include the Hayward S220 body O-ring (O-103), Hayward StarClear II lid (O-366), and Pentair/Sta-Rite tank body O-rings. If you can't find the manual, contact our team with your model number and we'll identify the correct part. Always replace O-rings as a set when servicing — a new O-ring next to an old, compressed one will result in a second leak shortly after.
How often should DE filter grids be replaced?
DE filter grids should be replaced when the fabric shows holes, tears, or significant fabric degradation that allows DE powder to pass through into the pool. Visually inspect grids every time you open the filter for seasonal cleaning — typically once per year. Grids in good condition can last 5–10 years with proper maintenance; grids in pools with heavy chemical use or frequent backwashing may need replacement sooner. Signs that DE grids need replacement: DE powder is visible in the pool after re-coating ("blowing DE"); pressure rises faster than normal after backwashing; or you can visibly see tears, holes, or ballooned fabric when grids are removed and rinsed. Replace the entire grid set at once — mismatched old and new grids create uneven flow distribution inside the filter.
My multiport valve is leaking — should I repair or replace it?
A leaking multiport valve (MPV) is usually caused by a worn spider gasket inside the valve, or by cracked valve body housing. The spider gasket — the star-shaped rubber seal that routes water between valve positions — degrades over time and causes water to bypass or leak between positions. Spider gaskets can be replaced individually for around $15–$30, making it a cost-effective repair if the valve body is otherwise in good condition. If the valve body is cracked, brittle, or the handle mechanism is damaged, full valve replacement is the better option. The Pentair PacFab DE filter multiport valve (2" threaded, 8-position) in this collection is a complete replacement unit for compatible filters. When replacing, verify thread size (1.5" or 2") and number of valve positions (6 or 8) match your existing setup.
What lubricant should I use on pool filter O-rings?
Always use 100% pure silicone lubricant (such as Magic Lube or similar pool-grade silicone grease) on pool filter O-rings. Apply a thin, even coat to the O-ring's outer surface before reinstalling — enough to make it appear shiny and slippery without excess buildup. Silicone lubricant prevents the O-ring from drying out and cracking and makes assembly easier without risking damage. Never use petroleum-based lubricants (Vaseline, WD-40, cooking oil) on rubber O-rings — petroleum products cause rapid rubber swelling and degradation, which will make the O-ring leak worse within a few days. Teflon-based plumbing grease is also acceptable for pool O-rings. Silicone lubricant is available in our pool adhesives and lubricants collection.
